Is Gospel the strongest demonstration of unity in the musical genre? It's possible. Even though it is considered a religious genre, gospel music has been breaking several paradigms of religion over the decades, accepting, reaching cultures all over the world, adapting and creating new formats, but always maintaining its main characteristic: the message of joy, hope, confidence, and perseverance.

Although there are thousands of solo singers, when it talks to gospel music, most likely in 90% of the cases, let's think in the group of empowering people, better known as "chorus". For this reason, we chose as the artist of the week, a 100% contemporary Gospel Choir, with a different format than the usual one, that can be perceived as a religious experience or also, as a cult of the music: The Sunday Service Choir.

The choir is described as an emerging church experience.

However, on the morning of April 21, 2019, precisely on Easter Sunday, the choir made its first official presentation opening the last day of the Coachella Festival, leaving not only a historical moment in the history of the choir but also the most surreal moment in the 20 years of the festival. Over fifty thousand people attended the Sunday service when dozens of performers rode in a circle on a large artificial mountain, dressed in purple, giving the revellers in the Indio Desert, California, the opportunity to witness the first public edition of their "Sunday Service" for over two hours. rent beliefs, but all with the aim of celebrating in the community, toasting with a dose of purity that is inspiring, empowering, and totally positive through the message provided by gospel music. In principle, it has been held on Sunday mornings, broadcast from unknown locations with a privileged audience. The choir began by mixing old music hits and classic versions of West in gospel format.

Over fifty thousand people attended the Sunday service when dozens of performers rode in a circle on a large artificial mountain, dressed in purple, gave the revellers in the Indio Desert in sunny California, the opportunity to witness the first public edition of their "Sunday Service" for over two hours.

In principle, the idea was to do it for an hour every Sunday in order to have something where people could meet and feel good with their families. During the rest of the year, the location varied from week to week, but took place in many places around the country, from Chicago to Houston.

At Christmas 2019 the choir released their debut album "Jesus is born".

As a result, an emphatic contemporary gospel album that lasts a little over an hour and instils the influences of the traditional gospel predecessors, and at the same time reinvents classic pop songs into songs of faith, such as "Elastic Heart" by Sia, who has already joined the choir to perform this song, transforming it into track number 9 of the album called "Lift Up Your Voices". The release is incredibly rich and inspiring, the gathering of equals to channel their Christian message is a wave of joyful sound.

Last November, after the release of Kanye West's latest album "Jesus is King", a crowd of people attended the Sunday service held at The Forum in the City of Los Angeles. Many of the attendees compared the ceremony to a megachurch experience, something like a presentation and a sermon. We can't deny that in terms of the call, it is known from the beginning that this project would immediately become mainstream, for the simple fact of having a musician like Kanye West as the head of this project. However, the connection between the choir/message/public has created a space where that immediate popularity - which at first was not credible or taken seriously by many orthodox devotees, today was perceived as a tool of spiritual enlightenment for many people who approached this project for a cause of worship to the artist. Today they were given the possibility to enter, share and understand that the message really reaches the soul and does well.

The equality rights within this group are neither more nor less than a wonderful union.

In the ceremony carried out "The Forum" you can appreciate how the harmonic conversations created by the passionate singing of West juxtaposed against the disturbing auditory record of the Sunday Service Choir, leave you speechless, making it clear that the equality rights within this group are neither more nor less than a wonderful union, it does not generate a difference between one and another, it does not generate a difference between being Kanye West and being a member of the choir, all together manage to attract the same way in common.

These emerging worship events were described as a "healing experience" to start your week, where equality of rights is balanced by the same spiritual and universal objective.
